This guest post is from Scott Johnson, a social media adviser at the Department of Human Services.
Have you ever used social media to engage with the government? Many departments are setting up official accounts to have conversations with the public or bring their service delivery into the 21st Century.
The Australian Government Department of Human Services has been using social media for several years but are continually looking at how they can improve or adapt their approach to meet your preferences and needs.
From 28 May – 07 June 2013, the department is opening their online discussion forum—speechbubble—to gather feedback and ideas on the way they use social media. Your feedback will be used to help inform their future social media strategies.
They want to know:
- what you think about their current social media approach
- what else they could be doing with social media
- your feelings about using social media to engage with organisations in general.
To have your say, go to speechbubble-blog.dhs.gov.au and get involved!
